Databases encourage close observation and give us the power to organise and classify our knowledge. They are used in all aspects of our lives and it’s vital that pupils have an understanding of how databases work. Objective:

To provide delegates with the skills need to use Textease Database CT in the classroom, using the software to teach pupils about the importance of databases and to offer a fun and engaging way for pupils to create their own databases.

Overview:

This practical, hands-on workshop starts with a look at databases in the wider world and gives guidance on how to teach pupils about the concepts involved. Following on from this, Textease Database CT is introduced and simple techniques for creating wow moments are discussed, for example when the chart on the whiteboard updates in real time as pupils enter data on their own computers. During the session, participants are expertly guided through the 7 simple steps to using Textease CT Database, finishing with classroom based guidance on integrating it across the whole curriculum.
