A hands-on day for teachers and pupils to explore social and digital media for learning across the school. Enable creative media projects in your school that will inspire learning, connect with parents and reach out to the wider community. Pupils become skilled and responsible social media creators. Teachers gain skills and confidence to facilitate exciting online activities in a safe and supported setting.

Objective:

To provide teachers and pupils with the skills needed to explore social and digital media for learning across the school, to inspire learning and reach out to the wider community.

Learning Outcomes:

At the end of this workshop, teachers will be able to 

• use social media tools within existing school activities and priorities to engage pupils and extend learning
• enable pupils to use social media tools safely and responsibly for learning
• use online technologies to promote in-school activities and learning to parents and the wider community

At the end of this workshop, pupils will be able to

• use social media creatively
• use social media safely and effectively for learning
• connect with each other and a wider audience in a safe learning setting online

Overview:

This is a full-day course that usually runs from 9.15am - 3.15pm, though our start times are flexible. The first couple of hours will be an introduction, looking at how to use social and digital media safely across the school. After a mid-morning break, the pupils will join in and together you will plan, script then create and edit your own audio/video piece and learn how to use social media to promote it as part of a social media challenge activity. There will also be a station challenge, where the pupils can work in groups to discuss a range of ideas and topics related to their Radiowaves station.

Face to face workshops:

This course will be delivered on-site at your establishment, by one of our accredited Radiowaves trainers. You will have the opportunity to speak to the trainer prior to the day to discuss any specific requirements you may have. Wherever possible, we will always try to accommodate your needs and tailor the session accordingly.
