What is the difference between ActivStudio /Primary and ActivInspire?

ActivStudio and ActivPrimary are two completely separate pieces of software and are quite different in look and feel. They have to be installed individually and it is impossible to switch from one to the other. Menus are contained purely within icons in the toolbox.

ActivInspire is one program with two different looks, users can switch between the Primary and Studio version easily. It has a standard Windows look and feel with a menu bar across the top of the screen as well as the traditional icons in the toolbox.

Where do you find the downloadable resources?

How many delegates can attend a Promethean face to face training session?

We recommend no more than 12 delegates attend a Promethean training session. This is to allow time for hands on practice and individual questions which are extremely important. This training does not work well to large groups as more often than not there is a wide variety of skill levels.

We only have 3 delegates is it cheaper?

Training sessions are not priced according to delegate numbers but are set to a half day or full day allocation. We recommend no more than 12 delegates per session and past experience has shown that fewer delegates does allow for an in-depth and rewarding session with hands on time and opportunities for individual questions.

Is it cheaper for an hour session?

There is no price reduction depending on the length of the training session, this is because each session is allocated to a trainer who will be setting aside the morning/afternoon to travel and visit your premises. We also find that an hour session is seldom beneficial for delegates as it can feel rushed and does not allow for ‘hands on’ practice time.

Can my training session be split over multiple days?

FantastICT often carry out training plans over a period of time across days weeks or even months however each half day or full day ordered is classed as just that – a one off visit spanning over the set time (see next question) A half day cannot be split over two separate dates due to trainer availability and travel cost implications.

What is classed as a half or full day training session?

A half day runs up to 3 hours and does not factor in a lunch break. A full day runs up to 6 hours and factors in a lunch break.

What is the best training set-up/room to use?

A room with an interactive whiteboard and projector is essential. This needs to be connected to a computer or laptop running the software (ActivStudio, ActivPrimary or ActivInspire) on which you are receiving training. If your training is on ActiVote or ActivExpression response units then these need to be available and working. Access for delegates to laptops or computers with the relevant software installed would be beneficial, one between two is sufficient. If additional interactive whiteboards are available for use this allows ‘hands on’ practice during the session. These may be together in one room, or spread over different rooms, but it should be possible for delegates to get to and from them in a reasonable amount of time.

Do we supply hand-outs?

FantastICT do not supply hand outs as all Promethean training materials and support is available via Promethean Planet. Your trainer will also supply delegates with a code to access additional materials and accreditation assessments online.
